Household Hazardous Waste Day The Fairhaven Board of Health is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Day this Saturday, 10/6, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the public works building, 5 Arsene Street, for Fairhaven residents only. Proof of residency will be required. Residents will be able to dispose of a variety of hazardous waste materials, such as gas, oil, kerosene, motor oil, oil-based paints, chemical cleaners, mercury, etc.
Other programs offered during the event include paper shredding and latex paint reclaim. Residents will also be able to get information on ordering a rain barrel and a compost bin. Gifts to Give, which repurposes a variety of clothing, books, and other items, will also be at the Hazardous Waste Day to accept items.
