The Iron Order of the Silent Few motorcycle club heeded the call for help recently after they were contacted by Fairhaven-Acushnet Youth Athletics. The Silent Few raised $1500.00 in just one day and presented the check to the FAYA on June 8 in memory of the “Smiling Warrior,” LCPL Matthew Rodriguez. SiFew has also donated $5,000 a year to the Veterans Transition House, and roughly the same in toys and food to needy families at Christmas, as well as Thanksgiving dinners for Fairhaven Senior Center last year. To learn more about the club, visit the chapter’s Facebook Page: “Iron Order Silent Few.” To learn more about Matthew’s story, visit www.thesmilingwarrior.org
