Forty-three motorcycles took to the roads for the first annual Bayside Lounge motorcycle run on Saturday, 9/17. Proceeds benefited the Kennedy Donovan Center New Bedford School and Adult Day Habilitation.
After the ride through the backroads, riders enjoyed a buffet of burgers, dogs, beans and other fare; raffles; and music by the Dave Charnley Band at the Bayside on Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven.
The event raised $2,000 for the KDC.
Sam Addy of New Hampshire said he joined the ride to keep his friend Jon Barboza company. Mr. Barboza was on his first organized ride, riding his 1981 Yamaha XS650 Custom Bobber. He said he joined the ride to support the KDC and organizer Heidi Pereira.
“You can’t say ‘no’ to her,” said Mr. Barboza.
