3-year-old killed in Acushnet accident

November 2, 2016 by Fairhave Neighborhood News

Three-year-old Victoria Varieur was killed when a car her father was working on apparently rolled onto her on Tuesday morning, according to statements from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Acushnet Police Department.

Acushnet Police received the 911 call at 11:43 a.m. The child was pronounced dead at the scene her father was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the girl’s father was repairing his Ford Excursion in the driveway of the home at 13 Jean Street when the vehicle rolled down the driveway and struck Victoria.

The vehicle continued down the driveway and came to rest against another vehicle parked on the opposite side of Jean Street.

“At this time no foul play is suspected,” reads a statement by the DA’s office.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Acushnet Police and Mass. State Police Detectives assigned to the DA’s office.
