The 37th annual Acushnet Road Race, sponsored by Mass. Auto Tune and Country Hardware, send 175 runners into the streets on Labor Day, 9/4. Providence runners took all three top spots in the 4.1 mile race.

John Schilkowsky crossed the finish line first, in 21:15; Henry Sterling came in second at 21:23; and Brian Crimmins rolled in right behind at 21:24. All three men are from Providence.

The top three winners in the women’s field were also all Providence runners, with Rachel Schilkowsky crossing over first in 23:22, Dylan Hassett in 24:31, and Katrina Spratford in 24:31.
Youngest runner was Acushnet’s owen Dylan Ladd, 7, who crossed over the line in 37:10.

Oldest runners were Jack Hand of Portsmouth, RI, and Barbara Belanger of Fairahven, both 80, who finished up at 1:11:02 and 47:28 respectively.
The morning also included a walk and a kids run.
