Rockets Away!

August 17, 2022 by Staff Writer

The Millicent Library in Fairhaven hosted Toby Dills for a lesson and hands-on experience building bottle rockets and setting them off on Tuesday, 8/9/22.

Dr. Dills explained the mechanics of the rockets, and then participants had a chance to try it themselves on the lawn of the Unitarian Church.

The rockets launch off their launchpads powered by water under pressure with pumped-in air. Teamwork is involved in launching the rockets: Two people have to steady the base while one pulls the release cord.
